Assertion Analysis #1 Tupac
Tupac Shakur was known as an inspiration to many people in the world by the way he explains himself through his music. Tupac was an American Rapper and actor . He is considered by many as one of the best rappers of all times. Tupac was a one of kind person he connected with people all over the world and was able to connect with them through his music. One of his favorite pieces is "The Rose That Grew From The Concrete" Shakur uses imagery and metaphors to make his poem feel real.
Shakur does a good job using imagery , he uses small words to paint a bigger picture . Tupac explained how people are expecting you not to make it out of the ghetto . And the analogy of a rose growing out of a concrete is related to that. Tupac is basically saying anybody can make it , no matter what. No matter where you come from or what you do as long as your doing what your supposed to be you can become anything. People may look at you because what you have on , how your shoes look like and how dirty you look. but people will always find a way to stereotype you in any shape of way . but because your "ghetto looking" your expected not to make it. people see you and automatically put a title to your name , and try to make you feel like you are less than them . So hes explaining how a young black kid grows up in the ghetto and ends up making it in life. Because very few end up doing that in this generation.
In the poem, he compares himself to the rose and the concrete to the ghetto" the hood" . he changed my view on situations like this , like if i was to see a black girl that is loud and dressed in a way i wouldn't dress i would be quick to call them ghetto or not home trained. I was not raised to be judging or anything but i just have a thing to put a title on a person before i know them . but i don't know what they go through at home , i don't know their struggle and its not right to judge people cause i know for a fact i wouldn't want people judging me and my flaws . it just all depends on how you want your like to go at the end of the day.
Tupac wrote this poem to explain how people want you to fail in life and they expect you to because your from the ghetto . but its up to you if you're going to prove the superior race wrong or let them continue to think that people from the ghetto are not going to make it . Tupac created this poem to embrace himself , and to let everyone know how The American Dream work.

Instead of suggesting Tupac makes his poem seems real in your thesis, explain what his actual message may be. Also, use the organizational structure we talked about in class:
ReplyDeleteParagraph 1 - Provide background relative to thesis, then a thesis
Paragraph 2 - Describe what the author says; key arguments, main ideas, messages, themes and arguments the author makes
Paragraph 3 - Analyze ho the author says it; what techniques are used to promote the author's claims
Paragraph 4 - Conclude by revealing "So What?" by connecting the ideas presented to the bigger issue
