Chief Joseph , A Native American tribe member of the interior Pacific Northwest region of the United States, in the latter half of the 19th century. When the United States attempted to force Nez Perce to move to a reservation in 1877, he reluctantly agreed to leave. Throughout the passage Chief Joseph uses parallelism, syntax and pathos to portray his reasoning behind his relinquish. Chief Joseph in his passage was talking about how all his men are getting taken away because of what type war they are in . Joseph talks about how tired he is of fighting if he's people are still getting taken away . And he's giving up because all he's people are dead .
